World Prematurity Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of premature birth, and to celebrate the milestones achieved in the care of the preterm infant and their family. One in ten babies is born prematurely around the world. Here at St George’s Hospital Neonatal Unit, we’re celebrating with a tea party and inviting some extra special guests. We’re happy to be welcoming the Deputy Mayor of the London Borough of Merton, Councillor Brenda Fraser as well as the Mayor of the London Borough of Wandsworth, Councillor Sana Jafri amongst our VIP’s! We’ll be celebrating the amazing team of staff and families looking after our smallest and most vulnerable babies. We’ll be celebrating how far we’ve come in the care we can offer. But most of all, we’ll be celebrating our amazing babies. Please share your pictures of your St George’s premature baby with our downloadable Instagram frame or Facebook badge, which you can download here: World Prematurity Day 2024
