Legacy giving

"Everything about the nnu at St George's was brilliant. The equipment, skill, dedication and care of the doctors, nurses and other staff could not possibly have impressed me more. Everyone also made what was a very stressful time for my daughter and her husband as positive as it could possibly have been. I would like to thank you for saving the life of my wonderful grandson with a legacy to help with the great work you do."
Becky Hooper, Grandma of Elijah

A gift in your will could be an acknowledgement and a thank you for the part that the unit played in your family’s life when your child or grandchild was born. Thank you for considering leaving a gift to First Touch.

No Inheritance Tax is payable on gifts to charity made during your lifetime or through your Will and if you leave 10% or more of your estate to charity you will benefit from a reduction of the inheritance tax rate from 40% to 36%.

Leaving a gift in your will doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are the basics:

  1. State in your will that you would like to leave a gift to us. We recommend using a solicitor to make sure your will is legal and valid.
  2. Include our full name, to make sure the money goes to the right place: First Touch, Neonatal Unit, St George’s Hospital, Blackshaw Road, London, SW17 0QT, Registered Charity Number 1072500.
  3. Decide on the type of gift you wish to leave us - a share of your estate or a sum of money.
  4. If you wish to update your existing will you can either write a new will or include a Codicil. Your solicitor can advise you further.
